Donations - Every.org via Myriad USA
How does making a donation on Every.org work?
Every.org is a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Each donation you make goes to Every.org first and we immediately issue a receipt for your charitable contribution, then make a disbursement to the nonprofit you recommended.
We aggregate donations from all of our donors and make disbursements periodically. If the nonprofit connected their bank account with us, they can request payouts at any time and cadence. Otherwise, we disburse to nonprofits in partnership with Network for Good, another 501(c)(3) nonprofit. On a monthly basis, Network for Good issues lump-sum grants to selected nonprofits.
This process ensures your eligibility for a tax-deduction and consolidated records of your giving, and reduces the administrative burden of the nonprofits to process multiple small donations from hundreds of donors.
How Is Every.org a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?
Every.org is a 501(c)(3) public charity and we use a donor-advised fund (DAF) structure to serve as an intermediary. A DAF is a single account that people donate to and then use to recommend many grants for nonprofits. Like a traditional DAF at a financial services company, donors to Every.org are able to:
- Make a single large, tax-advantaged gift of an appreciated asset by funding their account from every.org/my-giving/payment, then distribute grants to many different charities,
- Receive a annual single tax receipt for the donor,
- Protecting donor privacy by allowing people to choose how much information they want to share.
Perhaps even more importantly, Every.org instantly liquidate any asset they receive and complete all of the required legal and financial paperwork. In this way, Every.org enable any nonprofit, particularly smaller ones, to receive complicated assets like cryptocurrency and stocks.
However, in very important ways, Every.org are not a traditional DAF. They do not charge DAF holders any fees to hold their funds. Nor do they allow our DAF holders to invest their funds.
Does Every.org charge any fees?
Every.org is free to use for givers and they don’t charge any fees. Donations may incur transaction fees from their processing partners to reach TEDI, but generous donors currently cover transaction costs on donations made using your bank account on the site.
